Laura Hamilton almost flashes onlookers in A Place In The Sun wardrobe mishap

Laura Hamilton speaks about scooter accident in Thailand

A Place In The Sun star Laura Hamilton has taken to Instagram to share details of an unfortunate on-set wardrobe malfunction with her 190,000 followers.

The Channel 4 presenter found herself caught in heavy winds while filming a new episode of the popular teatime property show in Tenerife.

It was so gusty that she was forced to strap down her blue starry dress to avoid flashing everyone in the area. The 41-year-old mum of two posted an Instagram story showing that she and the show’s crew were filming on top of a tall building.

In the background, there was a motorway and several properties and as the camera panned, the wind blew up her dress a la Marilyn Monroe in the The Seven Year Itch.

This led to them having to strap down her frock, as she wrote: “The things you do for the director because its windy @danigimenez7. The cameraman is just happy we can see property and the motorway, and @sandymillie always knows I’m a wally!!”

Revealing exactly what was used to tie down her dress, she explained: “The wind started to pick up, and we had to use the bag that stores the bounce.

“That’s this big silver reflector bounce thing for when we do pieces to camera, to tie up my dress to make sure I wasn’t mooning half of the Costa Adeje.”

This lighthearted update comes just days after Laura shared some sad news, as she paid tribute to her late hairdresser Andrew ‘Will’ Vaughan-Williams, who died on December 2nd.

Taking to the social media platform, Laura shared a selfie alongside Will during a hair appointment. She penned: “The saddest news. I am in utter shock.”

Laura, who was on the same shoot in Tenerife as she posted the update, wrote: “You might’ve seen from a few last posts on my story some really sad news yesterday that I found out about a very good friend who used to do my hair.

“All of a sudden taken away from us, very very sad. So that’s all been a bit emotional.”

Will was the co-founder of Williams and Rice. He was a well known hair stylist for fashion shows and treated numerous VIP clients, including Laura. The company paid tribute to Will with an emotional post on Instagram.

They stated: “It is with great sadness to share the news that Co-founder Andrew ‘Will’ Vaughan-Williams passed away on the 2nd of December. He is a huge loss to the Williams and Rice family.”

A Place In the Sun is on Channel 4 on weekdays at 4pm.
