Top Gears future confirmed 10 months after Freddie Flintoff horror crash

Bosses of BBC’s Top Gear have reportedly made the decision to no longer continue the show following Freddie Flintoff’s crash.

Last December, the former cricket star was involved in an accident which saw him airlifted to hospital.

Due to the incident, filming for the motor show came to a halt following an investigation.

However, it looks as though bosses have made a decision on what’s in store for the long-running show which first aired back in 1977.

A show source told The Sun said: “Top Gear has been an institution on British telly but the feeling is there is no way it can continue after Freddie’s crash.

“The BBC are aware they very nearly lost a presenter’s life while filming a segment, and there’s a feeling it would be in bad taste to continue making such dangerous material.

“It’s a tough decision but they know deep down it’s the right one as hardcore fans of the show won’t want to see a lightweight version.”

The publication also details that one worker is planning to take legal action out against the BBC for loss of earning as the decision has taken the BBC 10 months to reach.

However, Freddie’s co-hosts Chris Harris and Paddy McGuiness are yet to speak about the crash that happened in December last year.
