A MUM has been forced to hit back after being slammed for giving her two-year-old daughter a make-up cabinet for her birthday.
The Aussie woman said she wanted to create a play area for her daughter – to stop her trawling through mum's own make-up drawer.
But some felt it wasn't exactly age appropriate – due to the lipsticks, nail polish, glittery eyeshadow palette, beauty sponge and make-up brushes on show.
Posting on Facebook, the mum shared a picture of the miniature beauty station – with a light-up Hollywood mirror, furry stool and rug.
She wrote: "My hack on the vanity for my two year old's birthday" – but was bombarded with nasty comments about the "inappropriate" gift and "real" beauty products.
The mum hit back, writing: "The make-up is fake, it's empty bottles and (glitter) fabric. My little girl goes straight to my make-up draw at least two times a day.
"This gives her, her own pretend play – cheap brushes that I don't mind her ruining instead of mine.
"Seems I went to sleep at the right time and missed all the haters comments. Be kind whenever you can we already live in a world with enough hate."
Others rushed to the mum's defence – saying they loved the idea.
One wrote: "For everyone putting this lovely mumma down, leave the poor woman alone and actually read comments. It's all fake make-up for pretend play! Get over yourselves".
While a second said: "I love this! Amazing job… My daughter loves watching me put my make-up on and copies me which I'm sure you daughter probably does the same, hence the interest in beauty.
"And if your daughter loves it then that's all that matters."
A third one mum gushed: "Don't let the haters get you down!
"My daughter (now three) got this vanity for her second birthday second she was obsessed with hairdressing and playing with make up. She loved it."
An admin for the Facebook group has since removed the nasty comments and turned commenting off.
