5 Seconds Of Summer Share Nostalgic ‘Old Me’ Video
Australian pop rock band 5 Seconds Of Summer are back at it again with a brand-new single, “Old Me,” from their upcoming fourth studio album, C A L M.
“Shout out to the old me and everything you showed me/Glad you didn’t listen when the world was trying to slow me,” the boys belt out in the chorus of the song that explores the theme of learning from one’s past self without having any regrets.
“C A L M speaks on a journey through a young man’s life, for better or for worse,” lead singer Luke Hemmings shared in a statement. “We are all human and all make mistakes, sometimes we hurt the ones we love and inevitably, ourselves in the process.
He added, “C A L M leaves the band in a much happier, unified and calm state of mind to continue making albums for years to come.”
The lyric video for the song features a series of photos from the members’ childhood – from adorable baby pictures to snaps that capture the awkward teenage boys that they were at the beginning of their career as a widely beloved pop group.
“Old Me” joins the collection of previously released songs from the album, including “No Shame,” “Easier,” and “Teeth,” which was featured in season 3 of the Netflix drama, “13 Reasons Why.”
The band also recently announced a slew of dates for the “No Shame 2020 Tour,” which will kick off its North American leg with a performance in Mexico City on August 12 and will continue through the end of September.
The new record is slated to be released on March 27, 2020, and is a follow-up to the group’s 2018 album, Youngblood.
