Deftones have shared a brand-new remix of the song “Teenager” taken from their 2000 album, White Pony.
Reworked by Robert Smith, the frontman of the long-beloved alt-rock band The Cure, the new take belongs in the upcoming collection, Black Stallion, a reimagined version of the band’s aforementioned 3rd studio album, which is being released later this month in honor of its 20th anniversary.
“It’s amazing to hear Robert rework one of our songs and sneak his voice in there,” Deftones frontman Chino Moreno shared with NME. “If you’d have told me that when I was 15-years-old, I would have lost my f-ing mind and not believed a word you were saying. It was a dream.”
Also included in the collection are remixes by Linkin Park‘s Mike Shinoda, DJ Shadow, Purity Ring, Tourist, and Squarepusher, among others.
Black Stallion is slated to be released on Friday, December 11.
