Gemma Atkinson, 36, and Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez, 31, are proud parents to two-year-old daughter Mia, who was born in July 2019. Today, the actress turned radio host announced she has released her second book titled The Ultimate Body Plan: For New Mums, which gives fans an insight into her motherhood journey.

In view of her 1.7 million Instagram followers, she said her new book was all about finding yourself again after becoming a mum, in the “most happiest and healthiest way”.

As part of her lengthy caption, she wrote: “I hope those who read it can take even just a little something from my story & journey into motherhood & realise through the good and bad days you are not alone.”

Gemma jokingly went on to apologise to Gorka as she revealed details of their sex life are included in the book.

She added: “From piles to stretch marks to sleepless nights and those wonderful little milestones we reach as mums, it’s ALL in there.

“(Sorry Gorks but even having sex the first time after a baby is in there too.)”

The mother-of-one went on to say that her new project also included tips, a 12-week exercise plan and recipes for fellow mums.

“No snapping back, no pressure. Just you and your own unique beautiful body,” she added.

Gemma’s book also includes details about her birth to Mia which “didn’t go to plan”.

The presenter delivered her first born via an emergency C-section after midwives grew concerned about the baby’s “tiny” size.

After Gemma’s daughter struggled to open her cervix, the decision was made to induce her.

Fortunately for the ex Strictly star, she had taken a hypnobirthing class beforehand and used these techniques to stay calm.

Two hours after the birth, the presenter said she felt “extremely unwell” which prompted her partner to call for a doctor.

“I was having a haemorrhage. A big one & I lost a lot of blood,” she wrote on her Instagram page, recalling the moment.

Gemma added that while she didn’t have much memory of the ordeal, she did remember being hooked to drips and doctors injecting her.

Thankfully after emergency care, all was OK for both her and Mia.

“I woke in another room with Gorks & my family there, Mia sleeping soundly & a lovely midwife named Di who was checking my notes,” she added.

Despite the traumatic birth, the ex Strictly Come Dancing star said it hadn’t put her off having more children in the future.

In a Q&A on her page back in April, she penned: “Lots asking if my experience has put me off having more children.

“Absolutely not. If we’re lucky enough I’d love a sibling for Mia, but when she’s older now!”

For now, the couple are focusing on planning a wedding after the dancer popped the question on Valentine’s Day earlier this year.

The pair struck up a romance after they both competed in Strictly Come Dancing back in 2017.
