Hollywood Bowl Cancels Summer Season Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

The famous Hollywood Bowl amphitheatre in the Hollywood Hills has announced the cancellation of the 2020 summer season.

The Hollywood Bowl is managed by the LA Phil, a non-profit organization.

LA Phil said it made the decision in response to the latest guidance of public health officials and in an effort to protect the artists, audiences, staff, and community from the spread of COVID-19.

This is for the first time in its almost century-long history that the Hollywood Bowl will be silent in the summer.

The move includes LA Phil-presented concerts scheduled from June 6 through September 26.

“Ticketholders to canceled events can donate their tickets; use the credit for a future LA Phil-produced concert at the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, or The Ford; or request a refund,” the organizers said in a statement.

The multitude of artists scheduled to perform at the Hollywood Bowl this year included Lady Antebellum, Alice Cooper, Alanis Morissette, Halsey, Brandi Carlile, Bob Dylan, Jill Scott, Janelle Monáe, Maxwell, Ozzy Osbourne, The Beach Boys and many more.
