Hugh Grant, 60, lifted the lid on his relationship with other Hollywood stars and which actress he remains in touch with nowadays. The Love Actually star said he and Renee Zellweger still maintain a close friendship after starring together in the Bridget Jones’s Diary franchise, which sees him portray her boyfriend, Daniel Cleaver.

In a recent interview on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Hugh admitted: “I love Renée.

“She’s one of the few actresses I haven’t fallen out with.”

The Notting Hill actor then added: “And, we, we got on very well together and, we still exchange long emails.”

Elaborating on their lengthy messages, Hugh continued: “Hers in particular, at least 70 pages each, interesting stuff, but quite hard to decipher.

“She’s a properly good egg and a genius.

“Did you see her Judy Garland? About as good as acting gets.”

Hugh previously confessed that some of his on-screen lovers – including Rachel Weisz and Drew Barrymore – “loathe” him and “hate” him.

Speaking to US Elle back in 2009, Hugh said Rachel Weisz, who co-starred with him in About A Boy, was “Clever. Beautiful,” before cheekily adding that she “despises me.”

About his leading lady in Nine Months, Julianne Moore, Hugh said: “A brilliant actress. Loathes me.”

Praising Drew as having a “stunning film-star face”, Hugh said she “hates me. Made her cry.”

Earlier this year, Hugh made headlines after donating a large sum of money to a GoFundMe page helping people in the UK who are struggling with the cost of living.

It was revealed to through the GoFundMe page’s account holders that an anonymous celebrity donation had been made earlier today.

“It gives hope and trust to many thousands who use our life-saving service and millions who follow our humanitarian mission.

“We are raising funding to help us continue with our essential and life-saving service for our Elderly, Vulnerable and disabled members.”
