James Martin, 49, left his followers confused as he cryptically posted about an injury he sustained earlier today. The television chef thanked A&E staff for “stitching” him up as his fans asked him what had happened.

James shared the injury drama on his Twitter as he posted a thank you.

The chef penned: “Thanks to the A&E crew for stitching me up …

“Bloody stars literally… thank you.”

However, the Saturday Morning star didn’t give any more context about what had happened.

His fans were quick to respond, with many wishing him a speedy recovery.

One penned: “Oh James what have you been doing?

“Hope it hasn’t damaged your guitar playing bits before Saturday! Heal well.”

A second added: “Indeed – hope you heal fast and able to carry on cooking.”

“Stop leaving us in suspense James – what on earth?” replied a third.

Another wrote to the star: “Oh no, that doesn’t sound good hope you are okay James. Take care x.”

James last posted on his social media yesterday when he shared a picture of his beloved mini.

This was the same one he used to film his hit ITV show Islands to Highlands.

He penned alongside the picture: “Back behind the wheel of the Islands to Highlands mini!”

James is due to be taking to the stage this weekend to play at a festival

He’s in the lineup for Saturday’s show at CarFest South with The James Martin Band.

However, the chef hasn’t shared any more information about if this appearance could be impacted.

Elsewhere, James shared an update about the new series of Saturday Morning.

Posting on social media, he revealed filming has already begun for the beloved cooking show.

On August 18, he shared a video update with fans about the news.

In this, he said: “There’s two reasons I’m sending this video,” he beamed.

“First of all, it’s the new series – we filmed today.”

He also revealed his first guest on the show was Steps star Faye Tozer.

“We had an amazing day, amazing chefs, it’s going to be a great week!” he added.
