Jeff Lewis’ ex Gage Edward sues for shared custody

Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward are heading to family court.

The former “Flipping Out” star revealed that Edward has filed a lawsuit asking for legal support, shared custody of their daughter Monroe and a request to change her legal name.

“[Edward and his lawyer] did file a request for order, which means that we now have a hearing date,” Lewis announced Wednesday on his Sirius XM Radio show “Jeff Lewis Live.” “And they put in all their requests like I want 50 percent and I want child support and all that.”

Edward is asking for equal shared custody and to legally change their three-year-old daughter’s name from Monroe Christine Lewis to Monroe Christine Edward Lewis. They welcomed Monroe via surrogate in October 2016.

The Bravo star, 49, opened up last May about how he and Edward faced difficulties in co-parenting.

He also revealed in November that he had been “leaning a little bit on alcohol” to deal with the pain of their breakup and custody battle. “It helps me with my stress. It helps me relax, and it’s become a routine, frankly,” he confessed.

The pair parted ways in January of last year after being together for 10 years.

“This has been a long time coming,” he said at the time. “We were in separate rooms a significant portion of last year, so it was kind of like a roommate situation.”
