More Than 1,300 FCC Complaints Filed Over Super Bowl Halftime Show
More than 1,300 complaints were filed with the Federal Communications Commission over the Super Bowl halftime show featuring Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
Many parents watching the beloved sporting event with their children found the pole dancing, twerking and belly dancing by the music icons too sexually suggestive and erotic.
According to some viewers, more than a musical act, it was an “X-rated strip club performance.”
“Jennifer Lopez’s performance at the Super Bowl halftime show was extremely explicit and completely unacceptable for a event where families including children are watching,” one complaint said.
One parent said it was difficult to explain to his 11 year-old daughter why J-Lo was dressed so scantily or why she kept grabbing her crotch.
A complaint from Spring Hill, Tennessee, said the viewers had their “eyes molested.”
Why would the numerous crotch shots of J-Lo and Shakira be allowed on national television where children and families all around the world are watching, asked another complainant from Port St. Joe, Florida.
