A royal commentator has described Prince Charles' nickname for Meghan Markle a "pretty neat compliment".
According to Christine-Marie Liwag Dixon, the Prince of Wales has settled on calling his son Prince Harry's pregnant wife "Tungsten," which demonstrates the 72 year old's true opinion about her.
Speaking to viewers of The List, she explained: "Meghan Markle hasn't had an easy time of it since joining the Royal Family. Not only has the press hounded her relentless, but she has also said that she felt less than at home in the Royal Family.
"The Royal Family may not have approved of Meghan and Harry stepping down as senior royals despite them doing so to escape an environment that was clearly not good for their mental health.
"However it seems that Prince Charles had a lot of respect for Meghan's resilient nature."
Christine-Marie went on to explain what the nickname means as she continued: "This was evident in the secret nickname he reportedly had for her: 'Tungsten'.
"As royal correspondent Russell Myers revealed on Lorraine in 2019, Charles nicknamed her after the metal as 'she is tough and unbending'. Tungsten is the strongest naturally occurring metal on the planet."
"That makes this a pretty neat compliment all things considered," she added.
Prince Charles is said to have a good relationship with 39 year old Meghan as he most notably walked her down the aisle of her wedding to Prince Harry, 36.
Despite this, the royal has only ever met his grandson Archie twice, according to reports.

Future King Charles left fans wondering why the royals used an out of date image of himself with Archie to celebrate the tot's second birthday recently.
A source gave the answer to MailOnline, claiming he has no recent photos of himself with Archie as they've not met more than twice.
It is also said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge can count their meetings with Archie "easily on one hand." As for meetings with his cousins Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, it is thought they have only met Archie once.
The Royal Family
"The truth is the Prince of Wales has barely seen his grandson twice since he was born," the insider said.
They added: "In fact every member of Harry's family can easily count on one hand the number of times they saw Archie after he was born and before the family left the UK.
