  • WILL HE GO?

Chelsea midfielder Willian’s public plea to be allowed to fly back to Brazil to join his family has highlighted a huge issue being faced by our elite teams, Andrew Dillon writes.

The Stamford Bridge hierarchy are considering their player’s request and want to do the right thing during these uncertain times.

But they must balance that with the Premier League’s ambition to finish this season come what may.

England’s leading 20 teams are braced for a wave of similar requests by worried foreign squad members who are torn between work and families in far-flung places trying to cope with self-isolation.

Willian, 31, would face difficulties returning to his homeland because of travel restrictions in place to try to stem the spread of the disease. Only essential travel is permitted at present.

  • MASSIVE COU

Arsenal have reportedly been joined in the race to sign Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona by rivals Tottenham.

The former Liverpool star failed to impress at the Nou Camp and has been shipped out on a season-long loan deal to Bayern Munich.

He's said to be available for £105million this summer and interest is high.

According to the Mirror, Tottenham are now in the race alongside Manchester United, Chelsea and rivals Arsenal.

  • SUMMER EASE

The Premier League are planning to restart the season on June 1 and be done in six weeks, according to reports.

The Telegraph say the plan is to complete the remaining fixtures by mid-July and have a four-week break before starting the 2020-21 campaign as normal on August 8.

Games would be played behind closed doors under the new plan.

And it would stave off a financial disaster for clubs, who rely heavily on TV revenue.

  • EVAN ALMIGHTY

Arsenal are reportedly lining up a move for Frankfurt's Evan N'Dicka this summer.

But the Gunners will have to fight off a rival bid from Premier League leaders Liverpool.

According to Sky Sports, both Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp's men are interested in the 20-year-old defender.

The Gunners are desperate for defensive reinforcements having conceded 36 goals in their 28 league games so far this season.
