The Premier League may be forced to hold crisis talks to decide whether Liverpool can be crowned champions if coronavirus wipes out the end of the season, reports Duncan Wright.
There is a growing threat the illness could wreck sporting events around the globe as health chiefs battle to contain the spread of the disease.
Huge public gatherings, such as football matches and concerts, may have to be called off in the worst-case scenario in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
So far, more than 80,000 people in almost 50 countries have been infected with coronavirus – with around 2,800 killed.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have prohibited any journalists suffering a cough from attending their press conferences.

GUNNER STAY
MESUT OZIL is determined to see out his Arsenal contract and remain at the “top level” for the next four years.
The £350,000-a-week winger’s deal ends in 2021 with the club yet to open talks with the German 2014 World Cup winner over an extension.
Speaking to I News, the former Real Madrid ace’s representative Dr Erkut Sogut said: “At the moment, we don’t even talk about it, because he still has one-and-a-half-years left.
“He still has 15 months to go. Until then, he will stay at Arsenal, for sure.
“He will stay until the end of his contract. There’s no chance he’ll leave.”
WHAT A DIX-HEAD
LEE DIXON has told Shkodran Mustafi to “pipe down” despite his improved spell of form.
The Arsenal legend took a cheeky swipe at the defender’s new hair do as he warned him not to get ahead of himself.
The 55-year-old told The Handbrake Off podcast: “He [Mustafi] seriously needs to have a word with himself and pipe down a little bit.
“Bang me 25 appearances out and 15 clean sheets then he can do what he likes with his hair and his sunglasses.
“Just sit back down for a bit and carry on churning the results out.”
IN THE RED
ARSENAL have announced a huge £27million loss just after it was revealed last night’s Europa League defeat could cost them £60m.
The accounts cover up to May 2019 and show the lack of Champions League football is costing them dear having been £56.5m in the black 12 months earlier.
Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick said: “Our player trading profit for this financial year was limited and this combined with a second consecutive season of Europa League football has meant the club recorded its first overall loss since 2002.
“For 2019/20 we will see increased commercial revenues from Adidas and our renewed deal with Emirates but another season outside the Champions League will continue to apply pressure to our financial results.”
AUBA N OUT
ARSENAL star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was left distraught after missing a potential winner in the last seconds of their defeat to Olympiakos last night.
Aubameyang thought he had done enough to send Arsenal in to the last-16 of the Europa League after grabbing an equaliser in extra-time but it wasn't to be for the striker as Youssef El-Arabi snatched a dramatic winner.
And after the game, the Gabon international was left lying on the pitch with not a teammate in sight to console the club's top scorer.

Desperately disappointing result. But we win as a team, and we lose as a team. We have to put it behind us and move on. Plenty more matches to come this season.
