  • KEP IT OUT

  • WHEL HIM IN

Former striker Noel Whelan wants Tottenham to pull out all the stops to sign Willian.

The Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and Whelan believes he is still a “brilliant” player.

He told Football Insider: “It was Mourinho that signed him.

“He is one player that when you watch him for Chelsea – can still do it. I can see what Frank wants to do, use him until the end of the season because he has been there for such a long time and is very professional. You can see the quality he still possesses.

“If you are not looking at him in the Premier League there is a real issue there, you must have some brilliant players like Willian – he is dangerous, scores goals and will make a difference.

“He would fit straight in at Tottenham and Harry Kane and Son Heung-min would benefit from having him in the side. On a free – win-win.”

  • TELL TALE

Chelsea have reportedly made “initial contact” with Porto over a £36million move for Alex Telles.

Frank Lampard has often favoured Marcos Alonso at left-back this campaign.

But the Blues boss is known to want to strengthen that area once the transfer window re-opens in the summer.

Leicester City’s England international Ben Chilwell is believed to be the No.1 target for the Stamford Bridge boss.

Now A Bola claim Chelsea are already in talks with the Portuguese giants over a deal for Telles with a summer switch “inevitable”.

  • RULE BRITANNIA

Chelsea fielded their first starting all-British midfield in the Premier League for 22 years – and fans got a glimpse of what they have been missing.

Ross Barkley, Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour linked up with ease as they tore Everton to shreds at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea reckon the last time their side started a league game solely with midfielders from the United Kingdom was way back on April 8, 1998.

That day, Eddie Newton, Dennis Wise and current assistant coach Jody Morris lined up at the heart of a 3-5-2 formation.

But they could not orchestrate a victory as then-Leeds striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – who would go on to score 87 goals in 177 Chelsea appearances between 2000 and 2004 – struck twice in a 3-1 win at Elland Road.

  • RUM TO THE HILLS

Frank Lampard's plan to sign a new goalkeeper this summer may face competition from Juventus as the Italians look into Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The AC Milan shot-stopper has been linked to Chelsea in the past but is now in the sights of the Old Lady.

Although Tuttosport's report on the Italian suggests the Blues have a bit of time to act as Juve are targeting a move in 2021.

That is when Donnarumma's contract expries, and when the Turin giants are plotting their big move.
