THE Easter weekend is nearly upon us so it's time to stock up on your chocolate eggs and get all of the ingredients together for a Sunday roast.
Even though the UK is in lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus, Friday and Monday are still bank holidays meaning many retailers will be adjusting their opening hours.
Here's everything you need to know from when Asda stores are open over the long weekend to delivery options:
How can I find the opening hours for my local Asda stores?
The times that Asda stores open and close varies depending on the branch so it's worth checking your local branch before heading out.
Some stores' opening times vary from 6am to 8am, although most branches have reduced opening hours to help staff keep shelves stocked during the lockdown.
Many stores now close at 8pm instead of 10pm as normal Monday–Saturday and 5pm on Sundays.
Asda has also temporarily closed its 24 hour stores between 12am and 6am for restocking.
There are over 600 Asda supermarkets across the UK and you can find their individual opening times using the locator tool here.
The retailer is also currently offering special shopping hours for the elderly and NHS workers while they're in lockdown.
What are Asda's Easter 2020 opening and closing hours?
Asda hasn't shared details of its exact opening times over the bank holiday weekend yet.
In previous years, the supermarket has reduced opening hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday and is closed completely on Easter Sunday.
Customers are advised to check their local store for exact timings for the rest of the weekend to avoid disappointment.
Is Asda offering home delivery for Easter?
Asda is offering home delivery for groceries but in the current climate, the supermarket is warning that there are delays with the service.
Some shoppers are also reporting that they can't book a delivery slot at all over the next few weeks.
It's probably too late to get your Easter shopping delivered in time for this weekend but stores are open if you need to stock up.
Asda offers free deliveries on orders over £40, and free click and collect on orders over £25.
When are the Easter holidays 2020?
Unlike Christmas and Valentine’s Day, Easter doesn't fall in a fixed date every year and can be any time between March 22 and April 25.
In 2020 it falls on Sunday, April 12, with Good Friday on April 10 and Easter Monday on April 13.
The date is decided by a complex set of calculations based on observations of the moon.
Schools usually get around two weeks off for the Easter break, as many kids were set to enjoy their holidays from April 3, and go back on April 20.
But that has all changed due to the coronavirus outbreak, with all schools currently shut for the foreseeable.
