Food Network star Ree Drummond says her husband and nephew are “healing” after they were injured in a head-on truck crash near the family’s ranch in Oklahoma in March.
“Ladd and Caleb are healing up after their accident on the ranch. ❤️ (And the Drummond family is so grateful for all of your kind words!)” the “Pioneer Woman” host, 52, wrote in a statement to her Instagram on Thursday.
Last week, two of Drummond’s four children, Alex and Todd, also gave an update via Instagram.
“A lot of people are asking how our dad is,” Alex said in the video. “He’s doing a lot better. He’s recovering and he’s even starting to get back into ranch work.”
Todd shared, “Caleb is doing good. He’s pretty much all healed up and back to his normal life.”
Last month, Caleb and Ladd were driving separate trucks while fighting a blaze that broke out at the family ranch in Pawhuska when they crashed into each other.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Caleb, 21, was thrown 70 feet from the truck and suffered head, arm and leg injuries, as well as internal bleeding. He was taken to a Tulsa medical center in critical condition.
Ladd, 57, refused medical attention at the scene.
Neither of them were reportedly wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
“Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will both be okay,” Drummond in a Facebook post at the time.
Ladd and Drummond have been married since 1996 and share Alex, 23, Paige, 21, Bryce, 18, and Todd, 17.
