The coronavirus (COVID-19) has rendered millions of Americans house-bound. Countless events have been canceled or postponed (film festivals, concerts, premieres), and production delays have been instituted for most projects (including The Bachelorette!). But, ironically, this is the time that we need entertainment the most.
Sensing this need, famous musicians are stepping up to give us live-streaming concerts from their homes. Coldplay’s Chris Martin started the trend on Monday, inviting anyone who “feels like chatting and listening to some music” to tune in on Coldplay’s Instagram.
John Legend followed suit, announcing to his fans that he’d be streaming a concert on Tuesday at 1pm PT. “Requests will be accepted,” he added, “and let me know which other artists I should pass the torch to.”
Chrissy Teigen noted that she’d also be there, “because I literally have no choice.”
Legend and Martin aren’t the only celebrities getting creative at home. Ashley Benson and Cara Delevingne soothed our weary souls with this impressive Keeping Up with the Kardashian-themed TikTok.
Mindy Kaling inspired us all to explore our hidden talents.
Elizabeth Banks took self-care to an enviable level with a good friend she thankfully didn’t have to practice social distancing with: Tequila.
Zoe Kravitz made us wish we had a giant dog to quarantine with.
Amy Adams and Jennifer Garner (virtually) banded together for a good cause.
Eva Mendes made “all dressed up with nowhere to go” aspirational.
We’ll get by with a little help from our (famous) friends.
