'How rude' – Ex-UFC star Paige VanZant HANGS UP on Ariel Helwani after he asks her 'squirly' question

FORMER UFC flyweight Paige VanZant cut short her interview with MMA reporter Ariel Helwani because of a 'squirly' question.

VanZant appeared on the latest episode of The MMA Hour to discuss her transition from combat sports to pro-wrestling.

But she prematurely ended the interview by telling the veteran journalist: "Hey, you can be a little bit squirly, Ariel. Everybody knows that."

Helwani replied: "What do you mean, squirly? What is that supposed to mean?"

With a smile on her face and a slight laugh, the former Dancing with the Stars contestant said: "You're squirly, you're squirly.

"Anyways, thank you so much for having me."

Helwani then said: "This is how we're ending the conversation, with you calling me squirly? The one question you didn't like?

"I feel like there was one squirly question."

VanZant ended the Skype call before giving an answer – much to the amusement of Helwani.

The Canadian didn't take any offence to VanZant's hanging up, laughing while he said: "She hung up."

Multi-award winning reporter Helwani then jokingly tweeted: "How rude @paigevanzant."

VanZant, 27, inked a lucrative deal with All Elite Wrestling earlier this month following several cameo appearances in the promotion.

PVZ is champing at the bit to make her full AEW debut, although she will continue competing in Bareknuckle Fight Championship.

The former UFC star said: "It’s not an exclusive full-time wrestling contract.

"I’m in AEW and going to wrestle for them, but they’re also letting me be a part of BKFC, so I’m definitely not done boxing and definitely not done fighting.

"It was an amazing partnership that they’re willing to work with me and all the other things I still want to do.”

When asked about a date for her debut, she added: “In a perfect world, here in the next few months, honestly.

"Between the coaches and everybody seeing as quickly as I’m picking it up, I truly believe I’ll be ready to get in there in a month or two.”
