Lil Yachty and Bhad Bhabie have invested $1 million USD in Lox Club — an exclusive, members-only dating app for Jewish people with “ridiculously high standards” — in partnership with agent Adam Kluger’s Scoop Investments, according to Variety.
Founded by CEO Austin Kevitch and engineers Alec Lorraine and Will Neild late last year, Lox Club is described as “a deli; it’s culturally Jewish, but you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy it.” In order to join the dating app, interested users must submit an application, which will be evaluated by a membership committee that considers several variables when determining whether or not an applicant is the right fit for the online community.
“The team prides themselves on being not ‘cringey’ and the Lox Club stands out for encouraging more personable conversations and connections,” the company reports to the outlet. “The app itself is a virtual speakeasy hidden within an old-school deli and offers users the chance to speak with a real-life matchmaker instead of solely relying on a computer algorithm like most of today’s dating apps.”
“Big bag bhabie excited to be a part of @loxclub,” Bhad Bhabie wrote in an Instagram post following the announcement. “Love and bagels biches.” Lil Yachty has not yet commented on the investment.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Timothée Chalamet sent his good friend Kid Cudi a Dune action figure ahead of the film’s premiere.
