Peter Andre candidly opens up on being a stay-at-home dad and reveals plans to shave his hair off

Peter Andre is currently living life to the full whilst in isolation, from his epic Monday night acapella sessions to getting busy with a lockdown groove with his daughter Princess, or ‘Bista’, as the star has adorably nicknamed her.

And it seems the 47 year old singer, who recently showed OK! around his and wife Emily’s amazing home, is truly enjoying family time in lockdown.

Speaking to OK! Online, Peter, who is dad to Junior, 14, Princess, 12, Amelia, six, and Theodore, three, said: “I’ve actually loved being a stay-at-home dad so when I’m not a stay-at-home dad I’ll miss that in a lot of ways.”

And discussing his plans post-quarantine, the Mysterious Girl singer added: “There’ll be a lot of ways that I won’t miss it, because of the lack of sleep, but I don’t know what work will be there for me.

“I do presenting, I do music, I do film, I do all of that but I’m also expecting that I’ll have to almost start again, but so do so many millions of other people, so therefore, I feel OK with that.”

Peter, who has jumped straight back into music as a result of his “new love again for the studio,” isn’t worried about the prospect of having to start again following the coronavirus outbreak.

Discussing which projects he’ll work on next, the star added: “I’m not stressed at all. I’ve spent all of this time with the family and it’s been wonderful and it’s going to make me sad when it’s not as full on as its been.”

He added: “I’m in an industry where we might not be able to do gigs for six months or a year because they might not allow concerts but I’m not stressed about that because there are so many other things that we can do and I’m glad that we’re all in this together.”

“We’re all going to have things that effect us.”

The star has been spending a large amount of time with his children as wife Emily, 30, works tirelessly on the NHS frontline to save lives.

As a result, Peter’s 1.4 million Instagram followers have had an insight into his home life with the family, including seeing the star shave his son Junior’s hair.

Taking to his social media account, the 47 year old shared behind-the-scenes videos of the haircut taking place.

Peter revealed that Junior had even asked for trendy stripes shaved into his eyebrows, but did that himself.

“Uhh, I’m getting a buzzcut,” a nervous Junior tells fans in the video.

“I love my hair so much,” he says, before repeating “oh my god” throughout the haircut.

And Peter, too, plans to shave his own head during lockdown. He told OK! Online: “I’m going to do the buzzcut soon, give me another week or two weeks, maybe a couple of weeks. I want to just love my hair a bit longer and then I’m going to go buzz too.”

“Oh I’m doing it, but not yet. I just want to love my hair for another week or two.”

Peter has recently been working alongside Sony to celebrate their new WF-1000XM3 noise cancelling headphones.

The singer’s iconic Mysterious Girl track, which turns 25 years old this year, has been noted as one of the nation’s top 20 ‘guilty pleasure’ songs in Sony’s poll, with a whopping 65 per cent of Brits admitting to harbouring guilty pleasures within their music collections.

Peter, who admitted his favourite guilty pleasure has to be Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, raved about Sony’s new “unbelievable” headphones, which are ideal at keeping what you’re listening to a secret, adding: “They look cool, obviously they’re Sony, but also I can sprint and run in them and they cancel all the noise.

“So, when the kids are saying ‘dad, dad, dad’ about 750 times I just press the button.”

On partnering with Sony, Peter added: “The reason I’ve partnered with them is because they’re an unbelievable company but also one of the big problems that I have is, and a lot of people that run and sprint have is when you get a lot of these Bluetooth headphones is they fall out.”
