Crown Princess Victoria, daughter of reigning monarch King Carl XVI Gustaf, has been continuing with her royal duties despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The princess and her husband both attended a meeting to learn more about COVID-19 yesterday and met with representatives of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR).

According to Swedish tradition, various names are associated with certain dates, and Crown Princess Victoria’s is celebrated on 12th March.

Festivities usually include a military parade in the Inner Courtyard of Stockholm’s Royal Palace, which attracts thousands of wellwishers, but this year’s ceremony was called off amid the coronavirus outbreak – with 600 confirmed cases in Sweden.

It is expected the royal’s agenda will continue to make adjustments when attending and hosting engagements due to the coronavirus.
