Doctor Who star teases ‘challenging’ twists in Revolution of the Daleks festive special – The Sun

DOCTOR Who star Nicholas Briggs has teased the "challenging" twists in the Revolution of the Daleks Christmas special.

There's not much information about the festive episode other than the ominous name and the inclusion of the Doctor's greatest foe.

But the man who has voiced the Daleks since 2005 has dropped some major hints of the drama that awaits fans.

"I'm having to be very cagey," Briggs told the Radio Times.

"It's already been filmed and I was on set for it. It certainly wasn't a single Dalek. And there were quite a few interesting challenges, and some interesting location work as well."

He also hinted the title itself will reflect the twisting nature of the story.

The voice actor added: "All I can tell you is when the caption came up at the end of the last episode saying it was Revolution of the Daleks that was news to me.

"Because when I read it, it just had a code number on it so I didn't know what it was called.

"But it is a very apposite title. It fits perfectly – but not in the way that you'd think. I can see why they've called it that."

It looks like there could be a Dalek battle taking place in the special, as fans filmed one on Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge last year.

The BBC announced the special after the nail-biting series 12 finale earlier in the month.

The Master returned and trapped the Doctor.

Showrunner Chris Chibnall said: "We can't leave the Doctor there! On that cliffhanger! Well, we did.

"But rest assured, the Doctor and her friends will be back for a one-off extended Special around Christmas and New Year."

He added: "(I don't know when they're going to put it on yet, otherwise we'd tell you!)

"There will be Daleks. There will be exterminations. Thrills, laughter, tears. You know. The usual. See you at the end of the year."
