Escape to the Chateau explores the lives of Angel Adoree and her husband Dick Strawbridge as they restore their 19th-century Chateau to its former glory. Gracing screens on Channel 4 back in 2015, the couple have continued to amaze viewers with their incredible renovations. After gaining a lot of traction from their wholesome family show, the pair have discussed their future projects in the form of another spin-off show.
The DIY gurus told fans: “We have actually been planning a travel show for a while…
“Unfortunately, lockdown has meant that we have had to put this on the backburner,” they revealed.
However, the crafty couple divulged to their followers how the obstruction won’t stop their TV plans.
They added: “But it’s definitely something we are looking to do in the future.”
Ahead of their new show, they told their doting fans to “watch this space!”
In this year’s Christmas special episode, Dick, Angel their children took a visit to Colmar in the Alsace region of France, close to Germany.
Much to the surprise of viewers at home, the festive episode is always pre-recorded ahead of the holidays.
The pair addressed how the time difference affects their usual festivities on their website.
They explained: “Every year…we have had a pre-Christmas-day celebration.”
Discussing their Christmas filming schedule, they shared: “It always takes place [in] mid-December.”
“This year was different, we were having a bit of fun and had a taster menu.
“Working out the foods we wanted to have,” the couple added.
“And Christmas Day… was completely incredible…
“There is nothing like Father Christmas turning up and leaving pressies at the end of the bed!”
In the holiday special that aired on Sunday, the couple took part in a treasure hunt with their two children.
The Strawbridge family sampled local delicacies and tasted ice and crémant wines the region is famous for.
Once they’re back at the chateau, they create a magical Christmas inspired by their trip.
Channel 4 audiences were warmed to the core after Dick cooked up a festive feast for the family.
The popular DIY pair and their two children Arthur and Dorothy were also joined by Angel’s parents.
Explaining what food he’d prepared, Dick proudly divulged: “It’s a Christmas fondue.”
Escape to the Chateau is available to watch on ALL4 now.
