First look at Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer in BBC revival of Talking Heads is a far cry from the glamour of Villanelle – The Sun

JODIE Comer has ditched Killing Eve character Villanelle's lavish Parisienne dresses for rathermore understated glam in her new role in monologue series, Talking Heads.

The BBC show is a reboot of Alan Bennett's award-winning original episodes and has been produced while the actors are in lockdown, adhering to social distancing regulations.

Show bosses have now given the first look at Jodie, 27, in her starring role as Lesley in Her Big Chance, taking on a character originally played by Dame Julie Walters.

The image shows her character perched on a bed, with her blonde wavy hair tied in a high ponytail.

A tan coloured blouse and gold jewellery, paired with jeans, gives a sexy yet sophisticated look as she stares straight into the camera.

It makes sense that she knows how to strike a pose, as her character is an aspiring actress, who believes she's bagged her big acting break in a new film for the west German market.

Yet as viewers will discover, all is not as it seems, and her character in the movie Travis quickly becomes involved in a soft pornographic production.

Jodie's casting in the prestigious role was first revealed in April.

Alongside a message on her Instagram Stories, the actress simply added: "What an honour."

The reboot's stellar cast also includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Tamsin Greig, Sarah Lancashire, Lesley Manville, Lucian Msamati, Maxine Peake, Rochenda Sandall, Harriet Walter and Monica Dolan.

The reboot will feature 10 original monologues alongside two new creations.

Writer and actor Alan Bennett called the new series “a comfort and a huge compliment."

He said: "I hope a new generation of actors will get and give as much pleasure as we did 20 and 30 years ago."
Talking Heads will return with a double bill on Tuesday, June 23 at 9pm on BBC One, with all 12 films available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
