Gavin and Stacey’s Alison Steadman spills behind-the-scenes secrets about show
Alison Steadman, who played loveable Essex housewife Pamela on Gavin and Stacey, has opened up about the well-received Christmas special.
It's been a decade since the comedy series wrapped its third series, with many fans holding out hope the show would return.
Last year, viewers' dreams became a reality when Gavin and Stacey's co-creators Ruth Jones and James Corden rallied the troops for a one-off festive special.
Speaking about their 10-year reunion, which pulled in a whopping 18 million viewers, the British actress admitted Ruth text her asking if she would be up for the Xmas episode.

Discussing the filming process with hosts Eamonn Holmes and Rochelle Humes on This Morning, she said: "Oh! It was the best! We never thought it would happen.
"It's been ten years, and then suddenly I got a text from Ruth asking if this happened [the Xmas special] would I would you be willing to take part?
"I nearly dropped my phone," she exclaimed.

When Eamonn asked how long it took for them to be together on set, she replied: "About three months."
But she admitted she doesn't know if the show will come back for another series.
"Honestly, I no idea. I would doubt it because James is so big in America and Ruth is writing novels."

Discussing the reaction, she added: "I kept worrying because everyone was talking to me about it wherever I went – so thank goodness that people loved it.
"We actually filmed it in August in the three hottest weeks of the summer.
"I was wearing very thick jumpers – so, yeah, it was very hot."
