Ben Shephard scolded Good Morning Britain co-host Kate Garraway on Friday when her phone began to ring out in the ITV studio while they were live on air. Kate initially protested before realising it was her phone that was ringing but admitted she was concerned as she has no idea why she had set an alarm for that time.
During a GMB discussion, Ben was interrupted by the sound of a phone alarm.
“That’s Kate’s phone,” he announced as she remarked: “It can’t be.”
“There’s a climate crisis going on on Kate’s phone,” Ben said and Kate added: “No it’s not.”
As Kate struggled to find her phone, Ben reminded her: “You’re sitting on it.”
“Am I?” Kate questioned before finally finding the ringing phone. “It’s really awkward.”
“Is that your alarm to wake up?” Ben asked and guest Iain Dale quipped: “She sits on it because of the vibrations.”
“Where are we? Where are we?” Kate asked. “That’s extraordinary.
“I can’t remember the last time I set an alarm for 6.34am – what would that be about?”
“If anyone knows why Kate set an alarm you should be somewhere at some point,” Ben joked.
“There’s somewhere I need to be at 6.34am where is it?” Kate asked.
