Louise Redknapp was the second contestant to be revealed on last night’s Masked Dancer, and no-one was more shocked than her son, Beau.

The singer was the latest to be revealed after performing for the audience and judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and newbie Oti Mabuse.

She surprised viewers everywhere when she took off her Flamingo costume. Posting on Instagram, Louise filmed herself watching the show with her son, who was completely unaware she was taking part in the competition.

After his mum was unmasked, Beau was totally gobsmacked and shared a priceless look with Louise.

As well as sharing the hilarious video, Louise had a message for fans after leaving the competition, saying: ‘Always be yourself… unless you can be a flamingo then always be a flamingo!

‘Thanks for having me @itv @maskedsingeruk / Masked Dancer – was so much fun to get out the house and do some dancing! Thanks to all the team who work on the show and all the incredibly talented dancers and choreographers was a pleasure to work with you all.

‘P.s I don’t think Beau was expecting to see me then Xxx’

Five other characters also took to the stage last night as part of the ITV competition, with Squirrel, Carwash, Rubber Chicken, Frog and Beagle all shimmying onto the stage.

She explained that she took part because ‘it just seemed so fun’, saying: ‘After being in lockdown for so long, it felt like such a nice change to get out and not only dance, which is something I love, but keep fit and just thoroughly enjoy doing something fun.

‘The dancing appealed to me because it’s something I love to do but it isn’t my sole vocation. It’s not my job but I do use it within my job.’

The Masked Singer continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
