Okay, We *Finally* Know Matt James and Clare Crawley's Bachelor and Bachelorette Filming Schedules

Production on the Bachelor franchise has been postponed due to coronavirus, and you might be wondering if Clare Crawley and Matt James’ seasons of The Bachelorette and The Bachelor are ever even going to happen. Answer: THEY ARE. In fact, ABC has a whole plan of action that they just laid out.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, ABC’s Vice President of Alternative Programming Rob Mills explained that Clare’s season of The Bachelorette will go into production first, and start shooting in about a month. And yep, everyone is going to be quarantined together.

The show won’t be filmed at Bachelor Mansion, but will instead take place at a resort.

After Clare’s season finishes filming, Matt’s season will immediately go into production—ideally in September. And depending on what’s going on with coronavirus, Matt and his contestants could end up doing some domestic traveling—and may even film at Bachelor Mansion.

As The Bachelor and The Bachelorette go into production, the franchise has promised to make “significant changes ” to address its lack of diversity. In a statement posted to Instagram on the heels of Matt being announced as the show’s first Black Bachelor, executive producers pledged to “expand diversity in our cast, in our staff, and most importantly, in the relationships we show on television.”

Producers are currently re-casting Clare’s contestants, while Rob says a record-setting 6,5000 people have applied to be on Matt’s season.
