Phillip Schofield is reportedly in talks to appear on the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing as part of the show’s first same-sex couple.
According to reports, TV bosses has offered the This Morning host a ‘big money deal’ to appear on the dancing competition.
An insider has revealed that ‘top-secret talks have been happening for a few weeks’.
‘The hope is Phillip would dance with another man. If it happens it would be a beautiful and important moment both for him and for the show,’ the source added to The Star.
There has been a same-sex duo on Strictly before although as a one-off performance.
Johannes Radebe and Graziano Di Prima were praised by viewers last year after their stunning dance routine to Shine by Emeli Sande.
Ian ‘H’ Watkins and Matt Evers also made TV history last year after being the first same-sex couple to appear on Dancing on Ice.
‘What’s lovely about same-sex couples is that it’s a big deal this year and then, whether Strictly or whoever does it next year, it won’t be such a big deal,’ Phillip exclaimed at the time.
‘What we are more interested in is the dynamics of skating and how they work together.’
