What's The Trouble With Maggie Cole about?

Vicar Of Dibley legend Dawn French plays Maggie Cole and is the executive producer of the show.

ITV has billed the show as being in the tradition of Doc Martin and The Darling Buds of May.

Interestingly, the drama was originally called "Glass Houses", but producers had a change of heart and in the end chose to go with The Trouble With Maggie Cole.

It's based in a picturesque, small coastal town called Thulbury, within a close-knit community.

Life in the town is turned upside down when Maggie, the community know it all, is interviewed by a radio journalist who wants to know what life is like in Thulbury.

Maggie gives the presenter more than they bargained for and spews out personal, intimate details about various figures in the town.

This causes a major ripple through the small town as Maggie has to deal with the effect of her words on the usually peaceful community.
