Johnny Depp ‘laughed about putting Amber Heard’s dog Pistol in microwave and dangled it out of car window’

JOHNNY Depp joked about putting Amber Heard's tiny dog in the microwave and dangled it out of a car window, a court heard today.

The actor is accused of holding the Yorkshire terrier, Pistol, out of the moving vehicle as he smoked a cigarette.

He is then said to have made "howling noises" while travelling in the car with Heard, her sister Whitney,a driver and assistant Nathan Holmes.

The shocking claim was made at the High Court today, where Depp is suing The Sun for referring to him as a "wife beater" in a 2018 article.

Sasha Wass QC, representing The Sun, said: "When you were in the car, you were smoking and you opened the window and you were angry and you were aggressive, rather like you were in that clip we saw yesterday – the monster side of your character.

"And you took hold of Pistol and you held her out of the window and started making howling noises."

The actor responded: "I can say it is a very endearing image, but it is absolute utter falsity, it is fraudulent."

Ms Wass then suggested Depp thought this was funny, to which he responded: "No ma'am, I don't think hanging an animal, a small defenceless dog that weighs three pounds out of a window is fun."

Depp was also said to have later "laughed" at a "running joke" about putting the pooch in a microwave.

He said: "I wouldn't say that I was the inventor of that particular joke and also I wasn't the only one who brought anything like that up."

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was also grilled during his evidence about an incident where the tiny pooch had "eaten some hash, some cannabis – quite a lot".

Depp admitted: "The puppy got a hold of a little ball of hashish and just scooped it up before I could get to it."

The star has been accused of being a "serial domestic abuser" who would lash out at Heard when he was on drink and drugs.

But continuing his evidence today, Depp called the allegations a "hoax".

Depp was yesterday accused of turning his "rage and frustration" on Heard, 34, when he "failed to control" his drug and alcohol abuse.

He "descended into physically destructive behaviour" – causing him to refer to his "drunken and violent persona as 'the monster'", it was said.

Depp has brought separate libel proceedings against Heard in the US.

The couple married in LA in 2015 after meeting on the set of comedy The Rum Diary.

But they divorced two years later after Heard, who donated her £5.5million settlement to charity, accused Depp of abuse.
