A Queens woman protesting federal immigration authorities in Bergen County, NJ, allegedly hopped a barricade and challenged, “I’m a boxer, I’ll f–k all y’all up,” a report said Wednesday.
Amanda Jean Torres, 26, disrupted the previously peaceful Tuesday night protest outside the county lock-up by leaping on top of the barricade she’d been repeatedly warned not to cross, issuing the threat and jumping onto jail property, The Daily Voice reported, citing Sheriff Anthony Cureton.
“She refused to comply with officers and then stood on the barricade and yelled threats,” Cureton told the outlet of Torres, noting that the alleged threats included, “I’m a boxer, I’ll f–k all y’all up.”
Even after the boast, sheriff’s officers policing the protest of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement were prepared to let her off with another warning.
“She was advised that if she crossed the barricades again she would be placed under arrest,” said Cureton. “As officers walked away from Torres, she crossed the barricades and was subsequently arrested.”
Allegedly making more like a kickboxer, Torres “resisted by kicking officers and refusing to be handcuffed,” Cureton told the outlet.
When Torres was finally down for the count, she was allegedly found to be carrying cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, the report said.
Torres was being held Wednesday pending an appearance in Hackensack court, where she faces charges including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, criminal trespassing, obstruction, disorderly conduct and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
It was not immediately clear if she had legal representation.
