NYPD hunts for man who raided Popeyes for cash, uniforms

Move over Hamburgler, there’s a new crook in town.

Cops are looking for a man who kicked in the glass door of a Popeye’s fast-food restaurant in Queens before cracking open the registers and raiding the uniform supply, cops said

The greedy thief busted his way into a chicken joint on Liberty Avenue near 76th Street in Ozone Park Friday at around 4 a.m. by standing with his back toward the restaurant’s glass door and kicking backwards until the glass smashed, video released by the NYPD shows.

Once inside, the burglar forced open two cash registers, both of which were empty, cops said.

Undeterred, the crook continued his search for loot in a back room but was only able to swipe 10 employee uniforms before fleeing in an unknown direction, cops said and video shows.
