<\/p>\nAn eight-year-old boy begged his mum for a "man bun" hairstyle before returning to school \u2013 but it didn't quite last all day.<\/p>\n
Kim Tate, 27, from North Wales, says her son became obsessed with the 'do when they went shopping in Home Bargains.<\/p>\n
Guto \u2013 who has ADHD \u2013 spotted an employee rocking a man bun, which is a hairstyle that's shot to popularity in the last decade.<\/p>\n

And the primary-school aged boy decided that he wanted in on the trend.<\/p>\n
Despite not yet being a man nor having enough locks to fit into the wispy up-do style, Guto decided to sport the daring look for school photo day.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
"Guto has ADHD, he has always been different," mum Kim told us in an exclusive interview.<\/p>\n
"He first saw interest in the hair style when we were at Home Bargains and a man working behind the till had a man-bun.<\/p>\n
"So, he asked me later on if he could grow his hair out for a man-bun."<\/p>\n
Although Kim wasn't keen on Guto's hair inspiration, the parent wanted to let the lad "express himself".<\/p>\n
So on school photo day, the mum used "plenty of Vaseline and hairspray" to make sure it stayed in place. <\/p>\n
However, it didn't go quite to plan and the bun lost it's slicked back look and structural integrity. <\/p>\n

"I wasn\u2019t keen because I didn\u2019t think it would suit him to be honest," Kim admitted. <\/p>\n
"But wanted to let him express himself so he grew it out.<\/p>\n
"The day of the school pictures I just knew when he came out of school with his hair like that the school pictures was going to be hilarious.<\/p>\n
"Definitely one for his 18th birthday!"<\/p>\n

Kim shared the series of photos on a Facebook group, which went viral back in 2021. <\/p>\n
Many people praised the boy for rocking the man-bun \u2013 and others applauded the mum's parenting skills.<\/p>\n
And despite some parents being strict about hairstyles, Kim didn't run into any probolems.<\/p>\n
She shared: \u201cSchool approved of his hair and there were no concerns."<\/p>\n
Now 10-years-old, Guto still loves to have longer hair but has ditched the man bun phase.<\/p>\n
He current sports a perm style \u2013 and his hair endeavours are continually supported by mum Kim. <\/p>\n
She added: \u201cHe still prefers long-ish hair but shaved sides."<\/p>\n
