Queen Maxima of the Netherlands brightened the room as she sported a bold purple dress on day two of the Dutch Royal Family state visit to South Africa.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The royal, 52, was effortlessly vibrant in a bright violet gown which featured an ornate statement sleeve during a Welcome\u00a0Ceremony at Union Buildings in Pretoria.<\/p>\n
Also on today’s agenda is a delegation meeting with the country’s politicians, as well as a\u00a0signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries’ education ministers.<\/p>\n
This will be followed by a private lunch at the presidential residence and a visit to Freedom Park, which is dedicated to all South Africans who fought to end apartheid.<\/p>\n
Queen Maxima and her husband will walk along the\u00a0Wall of Names which honours people who died in the struggle for freedom and includes\u00a0three Dutch nationals.<\/p>\n

Maxima’s lively ensemble for today’s events featured a two-tone checkered pattern and straight silhouette.<\/p>\n
The mother-of-three teamed her look with a matching cloche as she grinned next to the nation’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, during the outing.<\/p>\n
To accessorise, Maxima donned aubergine stilettos and dusky pink earrings while carrying a dark clutch.<\/p>\n
