Love It or List It star Kirstie Allsopp has revealed that she'll call the wife of her colleague Phil Spencer if she's ever worried about him.

The Location Location Location co-stars have worked together on the Channel 4 show for over 23 years and have since presented Relocation Relocation, Love It or List It UK and Location Revisited.

Speaking to OK!, Kirstie said that she spends a lot of time with her co-presenter as they're always working with one another and own their production company, Raise the Roof, together.

“If I’m worried about Phil, I will call Phil’s wife and say, ‘I’m a bit worried about Phil,’ and I think he has had conversations with my other half,” she said.

“We don’t hang out outside of work because we are together all the time so our other halves need us back. But we’re welcome in each other’s homes at any time and we talk to each other all the time.

“It is the relationship that it looks like — partly because after this length of time, somebody somewhere would have found the crack,” she adds. “We’re both one in four, we’re both very close to our siblings. We have got a lot in common.”

Phil, 53, lost both his parents in a tragic car accident in August, shortly after they were diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia.

Writing on Instagram after their deaths, Phil said, "Although they were both on extremely good form in the days before (hence the sudden idea to go out to lunch), Mums Parkinson's and Dads Dementia had been worsening and the long term future was set to be a challenge.

"Mum said to me only a week ago that she had resigned to thinking 'now it looks like we will probably go together'. And so they did. That was what God had planned for them – and it was a good plan."

Detailing the accident, Phil said that his mother Anne, 82, and Richard, 89, died when their car toppled over a bridge on their farm drive and into a river.

"There were no physical injuries and I very much doubt they would have even fought it – they would have held hands under the water and quietly slipped away.

"Their carer was in the car and managed to climb out of a back window so the alarm was raised quite quickly. As many farmers do – my brother had a penknife and so was able to cut the seat belts – he pulled them out of the river but they never regained consciousness."

Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas airs on Sunday 10 December at 8pm on Channel 4.
