EastEnders star in talks to appear on Im A Celeb months after emotional exit

Danielle Harold is reportedly in talks to appear on I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

The 31-year-old actress, best known for playing Lola Pearce in EastEnders, recently won the going for Serial Drama Performance at the National Television Awards.

However, fans of the BBC One soap could be set to watch the TV star be crowned Queen of the Jungle.

An insider told The Sun: “Danielle is at the height of her career and in demand after her moving storyline on EastEnders, but she’s really caught the eye of ITV bosses to appear in the upcoming series of the jungle.

“As well as being a talented actress with a huge fanbase, Danielle has a fun personality with a wicked sense of humour, which makes her the ideal campmate for the show.

“It could propel her into superstardom at an exciting time in her acting journey.

“Conversations are under way and producers are trying to lure her with a lucrative deal.”

EastEnders fans were gripped to her final storyline as Lola as she battled brain cancer.

Since leaving the soap after 12 years, Danielle has also won Best Leading Performer at the British Soap Awards and taken part in Channel 4 show Celebrity Hunted.

She was 18 when she joined EastEnders in 2011 as part of the iconic Mitchell family.

Danielle pent her final year on the soap knowing she was leaving Albert Square after executive producer Chris ­Clenshaw told her about Lola’s hard-hitting storyline.

Discussing her last few weeks on the show, she said: “It was hard to prepare for those final scenes. The medical advisors are there, step-by-step, helping me.

“I’ve been wearing bigger clothes to give the illusion of losing weight.

“It’s hard looking at yourself, seeing yourself looking so ill. But it has to be real.”

EastEnders worked closely with Brain Tumour Research and Macmillan Cancer Support to ensure every element was as true to life as possible.

The next I’m A Celeb series in Australia is expected to return in November with This Morning host Josie Gibson, 38, also in the frame to take part.

A ITV spokesperson said: “Any names ­suggested for I’m A Celebrity are speculation."
