H&M has a great £28 alternative to the 2.2k Gucci Jackie bag

Splashing out on a designer bag is one of life’s luxuries that many of us simply can’t justify, especially when they often come with a triple figure price tag.

Although there’s no denying the quality of a luxury handbag, more often than not it's the look and style that we're coveting rather than that bag itself, which means tracking down an affordable dupe is the perfect solution.

If you’ve had your eye on the timeless Gucci Jackie 1961 Small Leather Shoulder Bag, £2220 here, you’ll be all too familiar with its high end price tag, however we’ve found the perfect alternative that costs just a tenth of the price.

High street fave H&M has released a black Shoulder Bag, £27.99 here, that should fill the Gucci-shaped hole in your heart thanks to its incredibly similar design and details.

H&M’s version mimics the designer bag’s shape with its rounded square design and short shoulder strap that can be adjusted via the buckle fastening.

Both bags also have a minimalist gold hardware clasp fastening, although Gucci’s version has opted for its signature horse bit-inpsired design, whilst H&M’s version has favoured a more minimalist rectangular lock.

There are some differences between the two, with the luxury version coming in a matte black calfskin leather, whilst H&M’s Shoulder Bag, £27.99 here, has stuck to patent faux leather to help its price on the affordable end of the spectrum, although both have stitching detail that adds an extra bit of pizazz to the bag.

The high street favourite also has an open inner compartment that helps keep all your belongings safe and organised, so you never need to worry about rooting around for your phone or wallet, with a strap fastening over the top to help keep your bag secure.

If you’re particularly fond of Gucci’s elongated gold clasp details, Charles & Keith’s Cesia Metallic Accent Shoulder Bag, £89 here, also has a very similar look to the luxury version, complete with faux matte black leather finish and a clasp that closely resembles the iconic horse bit design.
