A man was praised for his quick response after overhearing a woman being harassed by strangers.

Cody Bret, from Missouri, took to his Instagram to share the story which, he claims, saw him step in to help a woman at a gas station. 

Cody, who is a relationship coach and writer, explained he overheard a woman asking two men to leave her alone so he decided to think on his feet. 

He approached the woman pretending to be her husband so the men would leave her alone, which seemed to do the trick.    

His post read: ‘Today while at the gas station I overheard a lady in her late 20s telling two other men to leave her alone.

‘So I decided to walk over to them and I asked her “how was the meeting today darlin?” 

‘She looked at me and said “it was good, I’ll tell you more about it when we get home in a few “. I replied with “wonderful I’ll pick up your favorite for dinner”.

‘The two guys left in a hurry and she told me “you have no idea how much that meant to me … thank you.” 

‘I said “you’re very welcome ma’am… you can never be too careful.”

‘I made sure the guys left before I walked back to my car and as I was walking back all I could do was think “. I hope a man does that for my future daughter one day.’

Many people rushed to the comments to praise Cody for his quick thinking with some saying he ‘saved her life.’

Another said: ‘I have a daughter, and I would hope that someone would step in and help her if she need. You are absolutely precious, sir!’

Someone else wrote: ‘That was very brave and very helpful of you. Thanks for going the extra mile in helping her. That was really sweet of you.’

While a fourth wrote: ‘Cody you probably saved her life, Thank you for always going the extra mile to help people.’

One person said: ‘That’s truly lovely of you to protect that young lady like you did she must have been so very glad you were there at that moment.

‘It’s funny how things turn out sometimes and I hope Karma catches up with those young men for harassing this poor young woman.’

It comes after another TikTok user was praised after sharing a video showing himself helping a woman who was being harassed by a ‘creepy’ man in a grocery store.

Brandon Robert, 22, from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, took to TikTok to the social media platform to show how he assisted the woman after realizing she was being made to feel uncomfortable by the stranger.

In the video, he approached the woman in the store and pretended that he was friends with her to give her a chance to exit her conversation with the man.
