Man, 71, found dead as cops arrest man, 27, and woman, 33, over 'murder' in Rochester | The Sun
A 71-YEAR-old man has been found dead as police make two arrests on suspicion of murder.
Kent Police was called at 7.50am on September 5, 2023, to an address in Mercury Close, Borstal, near Rochester.
Officers attended, and a 71-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene.
The victim’s next of kin has been informed.
An investigation is being led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
At 8.30am, a 27-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody.
Phil, a resident who lives nearby, told Kent Online: “The first I knew of anything was when I heard the police banging down the door.”
Another woman, who did not want to be named, told the news outlet: “I went out to do the school run and within five minutes from when I returned there were five police cars and ambulances everywhere.
“It is sickening. He is an old man, that could be someone’s grandad.”
The Sun Online has contacted Kent Police for an update.
