Holly Willoughby seen slipping away from NTAs with husband Dan Baldwin after This Morning booed and beaten by BBC rival | The Sun

HOLLY Willoughby made a quick and quiet exit from the National Television Awards last night on the arm of husband Dan Baldwin.

The TV power couple were pictured leaving the O2 after This Morning lost out to The Repair Shop in the Daytime category and were booed by some audience members.

The disappointment capped a difficult year for Holly who has had to steady the This Morning ship after her former friend and co-star Phillip Schofield was found to have had an affair with a young male runner.

Glamorous Holly wore a lilac gown to the star-studded event and looked like a Hollywood bombshell from its golden era.

TV producer Dan looked smart in a dark suit as he led his wife to a waiting car.

On her way hope Holly took a selfie as she tucked into a takeaway cheeseburger.

Emmerdale legend left in tears on This Morning and has to be comforted by Holly

There was no hangover today as she appeared bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on This Morning alongside Craig Doyle, who also attended the awards ceremony.

Drama has engulfed the programme in recent months, with ITV bosses facing questions in Parliament over alleged “toxic” conditions backstage after the Schofield scandal.

Viewers bashed Holly over her handling of the saga at the time and some are still calling for her to be replaced.

The fallout saw fans vote bubbly Alison Hammond onto the Best TV Presenter shortlist at this year's NTAs, leaving Holly off for the second year running.

Phil, 61, who resigned from the show after admitting to an affair with a young runner, was also out in the cold as his telly career lies in tatters.

Alison, 48, ultimately lost out to Ant and Dec, who won for a 22nd year in a row.

A TV source said: “It’s hard to see a time when Ant and Dec don’t scoop the presenter gong at the NTAs. But behind them, the shortlist has become a battleground all of its own."
