Man Utd stars train ahead of Carabao Cup clash but Marcus Rashford is nowhere to be seen after £700,000 car crash | The Sun

MANCHESTER UNITED stars trained ahead of tomorrow's Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace.

But Marcus Rashford was nowhere to be seen after crashing his £700,000 Rolls-Royce on Saturday night.

Red Devils stars like Harry Maguire and Mason Mount were spotted joining in Sunday's training session at Carrington.

The duo look set to return to action after recovering from injury.

And there could be a full debut for Sofyan Amrabat, with aces like Raphael Varane, Alejandro Garnacho and Donny van de Beek also pushing for starts.

But Rashford was not among those training following his terrifying late-night crash just hours after United’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.

The 25-year-old’s white Rolls-Royce was left a wreck after colliding with a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old gran.

She was left very shaken but unhurt, while Rashford was lucky to escape injury.

His 2.5-ton Rolls knocked down a traffic light camera post in the crash which occurred near United’s training base around midnight.

Police made no arrests after breathalysing both drivers, and did not call an ambulance as the female driver did not want to go to hospital.

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes checked on both Rashford and the pensioner.

And a club doctor examined Rashford before offering medical aid to the gran-of-five.

She was then taken home in a taxi paid for by United officials.

Rashford later posted on Instagram, saying: “3 points on the road! I’m alright guys thanks for the messages.”

United commented: “Marcus is fine. It was an accidental collision. Thankfully, both were uninjured.”

A source told The Sun: “Both drivers were badly shaken.

“Marcus immediately checked to see if the woman was okay and swapped details.”

Maintenance engineer Peter Laycock, 36, also said: “There were loads of police blocking the road asking cars to turn around because there was debris all over the road.

“I could see guys in United clothes who must have come from the training ground.

“There were a lot of bystanders saying, ‘It’s Marcus Rashford’s car’.”

Another source added: “The woman was on her way home from babysitting her grand-daughter. She’s a cautious, careful driver and even more so when it’s training – which it was.

“The impact caused the airbags to go off. She was very, very shaken and confused. She’s not a football fan and didn’t have any idea who Marcus Rashford is.”
