Jeremy Clarkson admits hes no longer interested in cars

Jeremy Clarkson no longer has a keen interest in cars.
The Grand Tour host has said he used to be able to guess a make and model simply by its tail lights from half a mile away, but now that is no longer the case.
The 63-year-old blames this in part on having spent years getting behind the wheel of “anything that takes his fancy”, thanks to his past jobs including the BBC’s Top Gear.
He also claims age is a factor and that the vehicles being made now do nothing to “titillate”.
Speaking out in his latest column, the presenter claimed he was “not alone” in sharing this view.

In his lengthy piece for The Sunday Times, Jeremy recalled how his love of all things motoring started off as a child.
He recalled the various jobs he’d had involving cars, after failing at his first job as a travelling toy salesman.
The star stated: “When I was 18 I literally could not drive past a stubble field without being overcome with a wave of uncontrollable desire to go into it and spend a few minutes doing skids.
“Now? I have stubble fields of my own and the impetus has gone. Drive round in them for fun? I’d rather roll around in them naked.”

Jeremy said it was “same story” on the road, and he had no desire to speed off anymore.
He continued: “I used to blast past everyone all the time. But now I drive at whatever speed the vehicle in front is doing, and that’s fine by me.
“Age is partly responsible for a lot of this and there’s no question I’ve spent a very long time in the chocolate factory.
“When you can drive pretty much anything that takes your fancy, it does eventually become dull.”
Jeremy went on: “When it comes to losing interest in cars, I’m not alone,” suggesting younger people no longer have the same urge to get behind the wheel.
Suggesting this could be down to concerns for the environment but also what he deemed a lack of interesting, economical cars nowadays.
He added: “I don’t mind, though, because my God I lucked out on the timing.”
The star referenced 1970s music, a time when “comedians were allowed to be funny” and the release of both the first Ford Mustang and the last Nissan GT-R.
