Strictly’s Amy Dowden chats about ‘rubbish week’
Amy Dowden confessed that she has “not smiled since Tuesday” as the Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer lamented her “rubbish week” to her 625,000 Instagram followers.
The 33-year-old has been forced to pull out of any possible performances during this series of Strictly after fracturing her foot.
Her injury came just days after she celebrated finishing chemotherapy treatment for her breast cancer.
The Caerphilly-born dancer, who joined Strictly in 2017, said in a video: “I’ve not smiled since Tuesday, but now I am smiling again.”
Thanking fans for their support she said: “Guys your support, your love, it honestly means the world to me. Thank you so much. It’s been a rubbish week but I am feeling better.”

Despite not being able to return to the dancefloor this year, Amy confirmed she had travelled to Blackpool and watched “some beautiful dancing”.
Earlier this year she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which meant she was unable to participate in this year’s show with a celebrity partner.
The ballroom dancer went public with her diagnosis in back May after finding lump in her breast a day before she and her husband flew on their honeymoon.
Just days after completing her last round of treatment, Amy took to Instagram to share the disappointing news about her foot injury.
