Bob Dylan Says He's Trying To Get Jann Wenner Back On Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Board
Bob Dylan has said he is trying to get Jann Wenner back on the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame‘s Board of Directors.
The Rolling Stone magazine co-founder was voted out from the HOF foundation’s board in September over his controversial statements in a New York Times interview.
When asked why he didn’t include Black or female artists in his recently released book, The Masters, Wenner replied that they “just didn’t articulate at the level” of their white male counterparts.
Wenner later issued an apology, saying his comments “diminished the contributions, genius, and impact of Black and women artists.” “I apologize wholeheartedly for those remarks,” he added.
Dylan expressed support for Wenner in his presence during his concert at the Beacon Theatre in New York City last Thursday night.
“All right, I’d like to say hello to Jann Wenner, who’s in the house. Jann Wenner, surely everybody’s heard of him,” said the Nobel Prize laureate. “Anyway, he just got booted out of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – and we don’t think that’s right. We’re trying to get him back in.”
