BTS' Jung Kook Shares Usher Remix Of 'Standing Next To You'
BTS‘ Jung Kook recently dropped his much-awaited remix of “Standing Next to You,” featuring Usher.
“With the participation of Usher, the remix adds a smooth tenderness to the original track’s energetic mood. The two iconic popstars create a special kind of sonic synergy with their top notch vocals that promises to be a standout hit,” says a press release.
The remix retains the original’s disco lite groove. “Stop, can you feel that?/ It’s like heaven and earth moves whenever we touch/ No, for real, I know you feel that/ The universe approves when you and I dance,” Usher sings in falsetto over the song’s bass snap.
“So elegant and heaven sent these vibes, yeah/ It’s way, way too early to leave, we go away,” Usher adds, before slipping into the steamy pre-chorus: “You know that, all night long, we rock to this/ Screamin’, I’ll testify this lovin’/ All night long, we flock to this/ Screamin’, I’ll testify that/ We’ll survive the test of time.”
The remix marks Usher’s first collaboration with a BTS member. Earlier, he had worked with the band on the track, “Butter,” writing the lyrics, “Don’t need no Usher to remind me you got it bad.”
“Standing Next to You” is from Jung Kook’s 11-track debut solo album Golden. The album features Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, and Major Lazer as songwriters and producers.
