Luke Littler treats himself to kebab and coke after mad Ally Pally debut at 16

You've heard about the breakfast of champions – but what about the winner's dinner?

Luke Littler was certainly deserving of a banquet after beating Christian Kist 3-0 in his Paddy Power World Darts Championship debut on Wednesday. However, there was no fanfare or bulging buffet to greet the 16-year-old phenomenon after his landmark win at Alexandra Palace.

Instead, 'The Nuke' told interviewers he'd allow himself some fast food and a soft drink after putting in one of the most dominant debuts witnessed on darts' grandest stage. When asked about his plans after powering past Kist, the teenager replied: "Probably just treat myself to a kebab. Get myself some bottle of coke, bottles of Fanta. Probably treat myself to some more vapes [laughs]."

And Littler lived up to his word after a photo was uploaded later on Wednesday evening, showing the second-round qualifier enjoying the spoils of victory. He deserved it, too, after giving up just two legs from his first 11 played at the World Championship level.

He managed all that while averaging 106 en route to a clean-sweep win, the highest tally thus far in the tournament and only the second player to crack the 100 mark after reigning champion Michael Smith. The up-and-comer raised a triumphant fist while posing for the picture, which was posted by Live Darts on X (formerly Twitter).

Littler was crowned world youth champion after beating Gian van Veen in November and never looked out of place on his Ally Pally bow. He faces a tight turnaround ahead of his second-round clash with Andrew Gilding on Thursday, so it's no wonder he needed the fast fuel.

The Nuke won't be back in action until after Christmas provided he beats 'Goldfinger', who has reached the last 32 of the World Darts Championship on two occasions. That should give Littler the time to tuck into something a bit more substantial when he's not as short on time.

There would be no better way for the rising star to see in the new year as he prepares to turn 17 in January. Not that anyone would have guessed as much based on the quality of the darts witnessed in his Ally Pally debut.
