THEY'RE not cheap.

But with the promise of reducing energy bills due to not having to use the tumble dryer, more and more people are turning to heating airers.

And while some of the options on the market can be too small for big families, there's a new XL one that promises to dry huge loads of washing for pennies.

One mum decided to fork out £110 on the giant airer to try out, and wondered whether or not it would be able to dry all her clothes, including heavy pairs of trousers.

Aylin then had a look at the instruction booklet, and realised she could rearrange the rails to maximise the space to dry larger items such as trousers and jeans.

"This is like big heavy clothes," she said in a video on her TikTok page.

"Like Jeff's jumpers and joggers and stuff, so they're super heavy and they normally take like 3 days to dry (on a normal airer)."

Aylin then set the airer up to work for two hours, after which time it would cool down and turn itself off.

She left it and returned after an hour, only to find that the clothes were already halfway to dry.

"OK, it's only been an hour, but look, it's already starting to dry," she exclaimed.

"And that's the top layer as well, so there's other things underneath that."

Aylin then left the airer as she went out for the evening, and said that within five hours, all the clothes were dry.

"And that was like thick things, that would have literally taken like three days," she said.

Impressed by the results, Aylin then put another load on, and showed just how much you can fit on the airer.

She also said that she didn't buy the cover for the airer, but decided to try out the hack of using a duvet cover over the top instead.

"I thought that was genius!" she said.

As the airer has a four-hour timer on it, Aylin was able to leave the clothes under the cover, and was safe in the knowledge that it would turn itself off after that time.

"And hopefully my washing will be dry in the morning!" she concluded.

"Does it cost much to run? I'm debating going for this or a humidifier??" one person wrote in the comments.

To which Aylin replied: "10p an hour!"

"£109 I’ll just leave my heating on!" another said, pointing out the cost of the airer itself.

But Aylin argued: "It’s under £100 with the voucher. And that’s a one off cost.

"My heating costs a fortune!"

"That’s a brilliant idea," a third wrote.

"So handy in the winter," Aylin praised.
