I’m a fashion whizz and about to go to town on what’s in coat-wise – and it’s bad news if you love leather | The Sun

A FASHION whizz has revealed what to wear this season to look stylish – and it's bad news if you're a die-hard fan of the biker jacket.

As the temperatures are dropping, it's time to ditch the cardigans for a more cosy coat that will keep you warm this season.

But if you're still wearing the biker jacket, faux leather or not, then best keep reading, as it's high time you switched things up a little.

This is because according to one whizz, Madeline Hagmann, the once-trendy autumn essential has lost its spot in the fashion world.

The guru, from Texas, the USA, insisted that although it hasn't gone out of style ''completely'', the biker jacket has totally vanished from the runways this year.

Instead, she advised in the video, you will look much more up-to-date with the latest trends if you opted for a bomber jacket – and don't be afraid to go for bold colours.

For instance, Princess Polly offer a stylish faux leather bomber jacket in a gorgeous and autumnal burgundy shade, Madeline went on.

Just as outdated is the puffer jacket – the autumn and winter staple that's been keeping us toasty for decades now.

However, whilst they're practical and go with most outfits, the fashion pro urged to swap the classic essential with a more elevated pick – a quilted coat.

''To me, this style looks very preppy and quite luxury,'' she explained.

Someone around 2015, we also saw the rise – and later, the inevitable fall – of faux fur coats, which were often styled with an all-black look.

As an alternative, Madeline strongly advised to ditch this for a Sherpa coat or a shearling aviator jacket with a high collar.

Another big no-no to steer clear of when shopping is the plaid shacket – the hybrid of a shirt and a jacket that became all the rage last year.

''Some people might be upset […] but this season it is all about the trench coats and the pea coats,'' the whizz claimed.

Over 100 people raced to comments, where they shared their thoughts – and it seems that some disagreed with Madeline's fashion advice.

One person reckoned: ''This is why you buy one non trendy, classic wool coat. Of all the things to not get trends for its coats [sic].''

''You can’t pry my shacket off of me!'' a second hit back.

''*cries in Midwest floor length black puffer coat*,'' someone else chimed in, noting that the weather conditions were far too cold to worry about style.
